Port St. Joe, known as Florida’s “Constitution City,” has always been a place where strong foundations are built. From hosting Florida’s first Constitutional Convention in 1838 to thriving as a hub for shipping, lumber, and industry, our town has a history of hard work and resilience.

That resilience was tested again in 2018, when Hurricane Michael made landfall just east of Port St. Joe as one of the most powerful storms to ever hit the Florida Panhandle and the first Cat 5 to hit the USA in over 30 years. Homes, businesses, and infrastructure across Gulf County were devastated — but the spirit of our community proved unshakable. Neighbors came together, rebuilding stronger and with more determination than ever.
